Local Governing Board
Meet the Governors at Hilgay Riverside Academy
Dean Davison, Chair of Governors, Appointed by the Trust Board
I became a Parent Governor in December 2023 and have recently taken on the role of Chair of Governors. As my daughter is a student at Hilgay Riverside Academy, I am deeply invested in the school's success.
My professional background includes working as a security consultant focused on Critical National Infrastructure, along with previous experience at the UN and MOD.
I have appreciated the opportunity to connect with the outstanding staff at the school and have great respect for their commitment and professionalism in navigating the challenges they face. I am eager to support the head teacher and contribute to the ongoing success of Hilgay Riverside Academy.
I am especially keen on collaborating with parents to enhance the school's positive presence in the local community, fostering a culture of transparency and continuous improvement, and ensuring that the achievements and contributions of our students and staff are recognised and celebrated.
Charmaine Rankin, Parent Governor
As a parent of a child at Hilgay Riverside Academy, I am pleased to be part of the governing body. I applied to be parent governor to become more involved in my son’s education and school experience, to provide a parent perspective and offer a supportive role to an excellent school and school community. I look forward to learning more about the education system and being part of the governing body.
Sharon Devine, Appointed by the Trust Board
Nigel Moat, Appointed by the Trust Board
As the local Vicar, Revd Nigel is deeply committed to supporting Hilgay Riverside Academy as a Governor, reinforcing the school's foundation as a Church of England institution at the heart of the community. He is dedicated to helping the school uphold its core Christian values and ensure an enriching and nurturing environment for all pupils and staff. Nigel aims to provide pastoral support and foster strong links between the academy, the church, and local families, contributing to the overall success and wellbeing of the school. He has been an ordained minister since 2020 and has served in the Ouse Valley Benefice that includes the Parish of Hilgay since July 2022.
Kirsty Allen, Appointed by the Trust Board
I am really pleased to be part of the Governing body to offer my support to the future development of the school. I applied to be a Governor as I feel very passionate about children's learning and development.
I used to attend Hilgay Village School when I was a child, as did my parents and grandparents.
I hope to use some of my experience with EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), SEN (Special Educational Needs) and safeguarding to be able to support the school, children and families.
